PROGRAM PLANNING

We have conducted a few meetings to plan and discuss about the project that we are going to do. Our meetings are conducted at Dataran Za’ba at Faculty of Business and Accountancy. We have appointed our organizing structure within the group during the first meeting on the 15^th of November 2016. Muhamad Ashraaf bin Mohd Asri has been chosen as our group leader. Besides that, other members of the group also have been assigned to different tasks such as researching on potential organizations that can collaborate with our group to do this social engagement project and to contact the related organization.

Initially, we wanted to volunteer as street feeders in Kuala Lumpur at night but after that we changed our plan due to our personal safety. Besides, we also planned to visit a blindness special school at Setapak but the plan was also being cancelled due to some factors considered. After a throughout discussion among the group members and our supervisor, Dr. Yazkhiruni binti Yahya, we came out a conclusion to conduct our voluntary job at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas Selangor (SKPK) that located in Shah Alam, Selangor. Our group member have contacted the person-in-charge of SKPK to inform and make a deal with them to make sure we are allowed to do the voluntary jobs and to arrange all the details about our project.

To make sure our plan runs smoothly, we conducted another meeting with the group members. The meeting is to choose the suitable date and arrange our schedule to execute our project. We also constructed the objectives and the outcomes that we want to achieve from our project, during the meeting. We also make the transportation plan to make sure we did not have problems to go there. After all planning done, we hope that we could achieve our expected outcome.

TARGET GROUP/ COMMUNITY/ SOCIETY

6.1.1      Children at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas Selangor (SKPK)

·                                 Make them feel happy and contented by organizing a variety of activities and games.

·                                 Provide a platform to interact, socialise and communicate with students from UM.

6.1.2      Volunteers at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas Selangor (SKPK)

·                                 Learn and practise analysing and researching skills for the issues and the solution in the society.

·                                 Expose us to the experience of voluntary job that involve organization outside of UM.

·                                 Educate the volunteers to appreciate what they have and the responsibilities to serve the people in need.

6.1.3      Society

·                                 Inspiring and encourage others in society to volunteer in social projects and give back to the less fortune ones to create a truly prosperous country
